family member in MI was in major auto accident. Other driver was at fault (even though MI is a no-fault state) This family members insurance company was suppose to pay a percentage of his lost wages and medical bills. All necessary paper work for insurance to file this process was provided. After 3 months the Doctors threatened to stop therapy because they were not getting paid and this family member had not received his lost wages. Numerous phone calls and faxes did not resolve the situation, therefor causing this family member to obtain the services of his Lawyer for whom he had obtained to mediate the impending lawsuit with the other drivers insurance company. One phone call from his Lawyer resolved the problem however it cost this family member 33 and a third of what he received from his lost wages. This was not a small penny! His Lawyer claims that he cannot recover these losses from the insurance company because of state law. Shouldn't he be able to get the money from the insurance company? Their action caused him to have to obtain a Lawyer. What can be done? By the way, the other drivers insurance company has settled with my family member and his lawyer will receive 33 and a third percent of that too.
