Insurance Increase??

What is the name of your state?NJ

I was involved in an auto accident and it wasn’t my fault. The other party’s insurance company is only taken 90% responsibility for the accident. Will my insurance company consider the accident to be 10% my fault based on the other insurance company's judgment, and increase my insurance? Please advise.

No, your insurance co. will make their own liability decision.

The claims adjuster told me the following:

If the insurance pays $1000 or more for repairs to your vehicle and does not subrogate any of that money back from the other party's insurance company, this accident could be listed as "at-fault" and this could put you in a higher tier causing a rate increase. You would only be charged insurance points if the accident was determined at fault through the final payout. Is this true? It doesn’t seem fair because I wasn’t responsible for the accident. The other party hit my car coming from a side street with a stop sign and she was also issued a violation ticket. This is ridiculous!

Anytime you turn in a claim no matter whose fault it is your rates could go up.
