insurance rates

What is the name of your state? is it legal for a insurace co. to charge u a 50% surcharge to your policy if you have had even the slighest break in coverage my rate was about 600/6months then i get a letter that a mistake was made and they jacked it up to well over 900 because of a 50 % surcharge if it is michigan is very unfair with its practices

ask the states insurance office. im sure that they have an email address and probably have a web site too. that kind of issue is probably variable from state to state anyhow. good luck
