Insurance Settlement Advice

What is the name of your state? Virginia

Hello... I was in an auto accident a few months ago where I suffered a wrist injury. It was a relatively minor injury, but I did incur about $3000 in expenses for a couple months of physical therapy and other medical bills. This
is on top of $2000 in car damage (which the insurance co. has already paid).
The at-fault party's insurance co. (Progressive) has offered me a settlement of $4000 (I assume $3000 to cover medical bills and $1000 for "pain and suffering"). I was wondering if this was a reasonable settlement... around the usual amount offered for someone who suffered a relatively minor injury and incurred my medical expenses? If not, what would be a more reasonable amount for the ins. company to offer?? Any comments welcome...

I decline comment on the reasonableness of this particular offer, however, I note that an insurance company's first offer is rarely, if ever, their best offer.

Guide yourself accordingly.
