On the job car accident, who pays deductable?

While driving my personal car to company authorized seminar I was hit by a deer causing considerable damage to my car. I live in New York. Since it is my car and not my employers I understand that my auto insurance is to be used. Whose obligation is it to pay the $200 deductable on my comprehensive insurance? My employer claims that they are just responsible for travel expenses such as gas, tolls and parking. Yes, I still want to keep my job.

My response:

Simple. You are the responsible party. All because it was a company seminar, doesn't mean the company is responsible for Acts of Nature (or God). In the final analysis, it was you who chose to use your car, versus taking the Greyhound Bus, Train, Cab, Plane, etc. This is why we carry vehicle insurance.
