| As you probably know, you have several issues that you might need to resolve, including your insurance (or lack of), the specifics of the accident, etc.
But, lets start with the largest and most damaging.... being the judgment.
You claim that you were not notified of the lawsuit. Most state laws (FL included) have very specific requirements of 'notice of lawsuit' that must be met. If they are not, then the lawsuit might be able to be 'set aside'. So, start there.
Contact the court that rendered the judgment and review the file. What you are looking for is the 'service' that is required to have been made to you. Once you have that document, you will need to research the FL Rules of Civil Procedure to see if the 'notice' complies with FL requirements.
If you were not noticed properly, you will then need to file a motion with the court to review the notice. If you weren't properly noticed the court could void the judgment.
If you were in fact properly noticed (and forgot about it), then you would need to consider other options that are available.
So, you have your work assignment. Let us know what you find out (return to this thread and click on the 'reply' button). We will try to help you.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |
