What is the name of your state?Texas

My mother was rear-ended in an accident early June and has gone through various treatment options. A lawyer helped in arranging letter of protections to get about $10,000 worth of medical treatments based on our pending case.

Well, he hasn't done anything else other than send us to his "associates" to get over-priced treatments that did not work. It may not be his fault that the treatments did not work but now he wants 33% of our claim which will leave us with nothing other than cover the medical fees (actually we may end up owing a little bit). My mother has been out of work for 6 months+ and running out of funds

IF we did not sign any legal document, can he still get the 33%? Are there verbal contract laws that binds us to this guy although I arranged everything (from real doctor consultations and schdule a surgery) when I found out all of his treatment options did not work?

Any feed back or sharing of similar circumstances will be appreciated.

Welcome to the world of the crooked injury atty. Sending patients to their own crooked doctors, overcharging and overtreating. Did you not see any red flags?

These atty's are the main reason car insurance rates are so high. Did you think this was fair to the insurance company who would have to eventually pay those bills when you knew she was getting overtreated, and overcharged, in the hopes of getting a bigger settlement? I don't feel sorry f/ you. You hired this guy in the hopes of screwing an insurance company out of a bunch of money and now you're getting burned.

In the future don't listen to an atty about what medical treatments you should have. Go to your family doctor and let them decide what specialists and treatment would be appropriate f/ your injury.
