The federal lemon law applies to all new cars and used cars less than 1 year old that are still under a manufacturers warranty. Most states also have there own lemon laws.

Racer72 perhaps you can help me some more. I have taken my car in 6 different times to the dealership, car is still under warrenty, for the same thing in the last 20 months. This is getting to be a grave inconvience and a annoying hassle. Is there anything else I can do?

Contact the manufacturers area service rep. Because he works for the manufacturer, not the dealer, he has a lot more pull when it comes to making things right. The dealer should willingly give you the info you need to contact the rep. You may wish to also file a claim with your state attorney generals office. If the problem is with the car or dealer (or both) and they get enough complaints, the should take action on behalf of those that filed claims. You should also click on the State Law Center link at the right and do a search of your state laws to see if there is a state lemon law. Many laws of many states have a lot more bite than the federal law.
