What is the name of your state? CA

My staff Mary lend my sailing-boat to one of her friend and requested he return the boat within one hour. On his way back, he manoeuvred the boat in a wrong direction and the boat was badly damaged. Finally I had to spend money on repairing the boat. Can I sue Mary's friend or sue Mary.

Who is 'staff Mary' and what is your relationship with him/her??

If you loaned your boat to a PERSON named Mary, and then she subsequently loaned the boat to another who damaged it, any legal action would have to be against 'Mary'. You had no contractual relationship with the 3rd party.
