I first would like to know when a person can sue someone or an organization for slander. It is a church that I worked in ministry for about 8 years..and a situation arose..that cost me my reputation there. The leader is now telling people not to talk to me....when can a person sue for something like that...

With regard, only, to your last sentence, "shunning" is not actionable. Since you were vague and ambiguous as to the rest of your post, I have no opinion as to any merits.
