Lost wages

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Mass.
I was involved in a collision recently. I have been out of work for a while and just wrapped up training for a temporary job when I got hit on the way home driving a relative's car.
The police investigated and they took photographs of the brake marks I left in my lane. They then ticketed the other driver for crossing into my lane.
I'm getting the run-around with her company. They say that the girl who hit me has claimed I was at fault so they'll only pay 50% of a rental. I worry that the time away is going to cost me my temporary job and I miss the money I could me making right now since I do like to occasionally eat something.
I'm going to try and butt heads with insurance company of my relative. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is not your car. You have no standing to recover anything from anyone for property damage or rental. If you were injured, of course you could claim that but as far as the car goes, only the OWNER can claim it.
