| The terms of the attorney's fee (i.e. deducted before or after various expenses) is determined by the retainer agreement. You can be sure that, although unclear to you, it's crystal to your attorney. Without actually seeing the language used, my guess will be the expenses will be deducted after the fee, thus giving your attorney more money.
