Medical question?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

I was injured in an auto accident last week. I've been out of work since due to the accident. I did go to the Dr. the day after. I'm a self-employed independent contractor, and if I don't work I don't make any money. My vehicle is how I make my living. My question right now is how often do I need to go back to the Dr. for them to pay for me being off work and also can I go to a Chiropractor for treatment and therapy instead of a regular MD? It has been 1 week today since the accident and I am still hurting and have no mobility to turn my head which I must be able to do with my work. I ask a question earlier this week but couldn't find that thread. Sorry for starting another one if I wasn't suppose to. I really am very ignorant about the law. And probably will be asking a few more questions about this accident. Hope it's OK. Thanks!!!

What your insurance company would need to make that determination is documentation from the Physician that states you cannot work and an approximation of how long you will be unable to work. After treatment, you would then need to be released back to work by the original treating Physician. He/she can make the recommendation for Chiropractic or PT. You will also need to be able to document lost wages.

Others may be by with additional information.

Consider investing in disability insurance. It saved my butt back when I worked for myself and was hurt on the job.

Maybe it's because you started a new thread instead of posting in your original. Don't start multiple threads for the same situation.

Maybe it's because I could not find the other thread, which I explained above.
