minor daughter involved in auto accident

We live in suffolk county in new york. I was involved in an auto accident on 7/11/95 and my daughter who was 3 at the time was a passenger in the car. My lawsuit was settled. My question is "does my daughter have until she is 18 to settle the suit" The lawyer is pressing me to settle now and I would like to know her rights so that i can protect her. ginrayronk

In California there is not the usual one year statute of limitations for a bodily injury claim involving a minor. They have until one year after the date they turn 18. It's probably the same in most states.
