Minor involved in an accident

What is the name of your state? Kansas
My 16 year old daughter was involved in a one vehicle accident. Where she rolled the car. She had visible bruise. I was never notified about this accident nor was she tranported to the hospital for evalution. When I questioned these actions I was told by the police that she was 16 and they do not have to notify the parent and if they ask not to go the the hospital it is not required.

I always understood she was a minor until the age of 18 and there for I should have been notified, and she should have been transported since I was not there to deny this action. What is the actual law about this situtation?
