Missing Ticket = Pay or not?

I believe I recieved a ticket, as both my friends were parked in a red zone. I never saw my ticket, but she received one and mine either was never there or it has dissappeared because my friend told me she saw the ticket in the morning and it's not there now in the afternoon. I trust my friend to be right, since we were parked close to each other but if I dont' have a ticket, should I pay or go to court and ask them if I have a ticket. The idea of going and asking for a ticket is a bit absurd, but I dont' want to pay extra in the event that the ticket was lost. Any suggestion on what to do? I've never seen the ticket.

While the ticket on your car may be missing, you can be assured that the copy from the ticketing officer's book is at town hall. Go to town hall and pay the ticket in person.
