settlement laws for minors

What is the name of your state? Indiana
My mother, who was a Belgian citizen, died as a result of a car accident in Belgium. The car was a rental car which was insured. The Belgian insurance company is awarding all of the children and grand children a sum of money (I am not sure what this type of settlement is called). In Belgium the law states that this type of settlement to a minor (<18 yo)must go to a secure account, only to be accessed ones the child turn 18. My 2 children are both minors and US citizens, residing in the US. Does the US law stipulate the same provisions?
