No, unfortunately Donnie did not have insurance, fortunately we do have substantial evidence to show that the injury he has was indeed caused by the accident. All of the doctors I have mentioned before states as much, even the independant doctor from my fathers' insurance company. Donnies' two bulging discs are herniated and they cause him pain everyday, from 6-8 on the pain index. He gets shooting pains down both his legs, numbness in the inner and upper thigh area, calves and feet. He is constantly in pain unless he takes his pills on a regular basis. The surgeon says that he needs to take the bone out of his spine, put new bone in and then pin it in place. Sounds like fun. He then will be out of comission for at least 2-3 months, and wont even be aloud to lift his 9 month old daughter, who is 20 lbs., for 6 months. He already is not aloud to lift her or carry her around. The driver was at work at the time and I know that our lawyer has put in a lawsuit against the employer, should we do the same against the employee since he was the one high on cocaine and his negligence caused the accident? Thank you so much for your replies, you have all helped alot. Tracy & Donnie

My response:

Since you and Donnie didn't have health insurance coverage, it sounds to me that your current attorney is doing all he can with Donnie's lawsuit. So, it doesn't matter how many times you change attorneys; it's not going to change the facts as they exist - - Donnie's attorney can't pay for the medicals, and the medicals will only be paid when, and if, Donnie's lawsuit is successful. So, patience is going to have to be your watchword.

I wish I had better news for you. I do wish you, baby and Donnie all the best and good fortune in this endeavor.

Hey, when are you and Donnie getting married, anyway ? When you do, you'll have all the protections of the law.
