After completing an illegal u-turn, I was rear-ended by a motor cycle, who's driver was legally drunk and speeding. The motor cycle drive suffered physical injury. If I'm being sued and the amount of the claim demanded will almost certainly exceed the amount of my liability, is it wise or necessary to hire my own lawyer (on top of the insurance company hired lawyer) to represent my interests in excess of the insurance coverage?
