My brand new truck got vandalized ...

Texas.

Just moved into my apartment for college. I've been here about 3 weeks...

Any way, little info about the apartment complex. The pool is a HUGE attraction, and kids come from local high schools/dorms to underage drink at APARTMENT SPONSORED PARTIES.

So I came home late one night, and the only parking that was left was right in front of the administration building. I knew it was a high traffic area because the pool is right behind it, but really didn't think I had much to worry about.

I woke up the next day, at about 12, to 200-300 people at are apartment pool blaring music , getting drunk, and doing stupid stuff. Just by looking out at least 70% were under 21. My truck was in the route to the entrance to the pool, so naturally I went to find a better spot. And go figure, my front bumper has scratches down to the primer, and my left front fender (closest to the walk way) looks like some one hit it with a sledge hammer.

Even with insurance, I'm taking a major hit ($500 deductible), which as a college student with no job, its not going to happen.

I think its pretty obvious, if my apartment complex hadn't sponsored and supported this party my $30,000 brand new truck wouldn't look like a piece right now. And naturally they don't have cameras (even though it was RIGHT in front of their admin building). Is there anything at all I can do about this? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

You shouldn't carry a deductible so high that you can't afford to pay it. Is it vandalism or a hit and run? It is absurdly cheap to lower a Comp deductible from $500 to $100, it cost me about $1 per month. Would probably be somewhat more for a newer car, but probably not as much as you think. Lowering the collision deductible is more expensive, but still worth looking into.

The apartment complex is not responsible for the malicious or negligent acts of an unknown person.
