My daughter hit a parked car with her bicycle.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina.
My daughter an dher frined hit a parked car in our nieghborhood. Noone saw it happen but my daughter cam e and told my wife and she went down and told the people and said we would like to do the right hting and help. They called and said that they would be getting some estimates and we said fine and asked that they not go to the dealerships around town because they are the most expensive and we are in the military and live paycheck to paycheck. They came back the other day with an estimate of $750. I looked at the scratch and it looks like I could buff it out with some rubbing compound and wax. So what do I do?

You pay for the damage that your daughter caused. ...... And teach her how to ride a bike correctly so that she doesn't run into stationary objects If they will allow you to repair it and you truly CAN, so much the better.

Option 1, pay the amount on the estimate. Option 2, contact your homeowners or renters insurance and let them handle it. This is the kind of thing that they cover you for.

regardless of what you do, get a full release signed by everyone on the title.

Many car, renters, and homeowners policies will cover accidents caused on a bicycle. You may want to pursue this if you have one of these policies.

Auto policies won't. They specify what type of vehicle can be considered an "insured vehicle" and a bicycle ain't it (has to be motorized, among other things). Like I said, renters or homeowners will cover this.

OT: This reminds me of the Brady bunch episode where Jan discovers she needs glasses and she rides off on her bike bumping into everything.

You may want to look into that also.

Many moons ago, I was riding my 10-speed and had a problem with the gears. I looked down at the gears and WHAMMO - hit a parked car...
