My girlfriend was rear-ended into another car. What now??

We live in Florida, My girlfriend was on her way to pick up our son from daycare and she was stopped at a stop light and then another car (CAR1) slammed into her and she (CAR2) then slammed into the car in front of her (CAR3). The cops verify that car 1 caused the accident, but I heard that my girlfriend (CAR2) will have to pay for the damage done to her front and car 3's rear!?!?! TOTALLY NOT FAIR. is this true. And what else can we do?

What you heard is entirely not true if your wife was stopped at the time of the accident. The insurance policy of car1 will pay for damages to both vehicles.

Teflon is exactly right. I am going through the same thing with my daughter. An attorney that I work with that has previous insurance underwriting experience says that the person that hit your friend is responsible for both cars. No worries.
