I am a single mom of 2 young boys. A couple of years ago my youngest son was with my babysitter and was hit a a school bus in Little Elm Texas. The car was demolished, and it was proven to be the school bus drivers fault. I hired an attorney over 2 years ago, my son was in a body cast for almost 6 weeks, (he was 17 mo's old). He had to learn to walk again, and is doing better now. Thank God. My dilemna is my attorney told me when this happened that I would be compensated for loosing my job. Being a single Mom I had no help. I have now lost my house, and just about everything I owned. The attorney said that as his parent I am rewarded nothing. Dylan(my son) is now getting 30 thousand in a trust fund, but 6 months ago he said he would be getting 60 thousand. I am confused by all of this and am not sure what to do next. My attorney told me the other day that he wanted to settle by next month? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
