Need Legal Answer

I am 19 years old nd trying to buy a car. I wanted to know if I could pay insurance without having coverage for my mom. For example if she was not covered on my plan and I got into an accident could she still be held liable since I am a dependent on her? I live in the state of Florida if that matters. PLEASE HELP!

You are 19 years old. You are legally an adult. Anything you do or did since your 18th birthday is strictly your problem, not your mother's. She cannot be held responsible for anything that you do. You are only a dependant on her tax return, nothing else. Unless your mother will be driving the car, she does not have to be on the insurance policy.
