What is the name of your state? Rhode Island

I was involved in an auto accident where the driver I rear-ended
was found to be at fault. He was cited by the police for parking his car on a travelled portion of the highway.

His insurance company has settled my claim and accepted
100% liability on the part of their insured.

I just received a letter from a lawyer on behalf of the other driver
stating the they are seeking a claim against me for property damage & bodily injury. I spoke with my insurance company, and they said not to worry, because his insurance had claimed responsibility. They also said that they have already denied the claim.

Now what concerns me is, can the driver come after me personally?

Should I contact a lawyer or let the insurance companies deal with it?

Please help, my wife is very concerned about this situation

Thank you for any advice:

Yes, the other driver can file a lawsuit against you.... but that is a LONG way from winning. Send the letter to your insurance company by certified RRR. They will handle it for you.
