Is it possible to be arrested and succusfully prosecuted in NH if a vehicle you own was found on the side of the road after being in an accident (no property damage other than the vehicle/no personal injury) with no driver. The police came to the owners home that evening to question his wife who informed them she did not know his whereabouts or whether he was driving. The car has been considered a loss by the insurance company and there has been no attempt by the police for additional contact since the evening of the accident (approx 2 1/2 weeks).

The police were concerned that somebody got into an accident and may have been hurt and could have wandered away into the woods or something like that. Their first concern in this case is making sure the driver is ok. I'm guessing by your question, you were drunk, crashed the car, and then left the scene so you wouldn't get a DWI? It's possible for the police to ticket you for leaving the scene of an accident. So yes, it is possible to be arrested and prosecuted for this.
