| No ticket given i was at fault in an accientdent last week in denver, co. the police officer didn't give me a ticket at the time stating that no damage was done to the other vehicle (a semi) and that I would be paying enough with my insurance deductible for the damage that was done to mine. three days later i received a phone call from the same officer stating that his sergeant has given him the report back on my accident and wants him to cite me for this. he said that i would have to go and pick up the ticket. it will be a three point ticket and I will have to appear in court. my question is, is this legal. can an officer essentially change his mind? i thought that if an officer was going to give a ticket, he had to do so at the scene. can anyone help clear this up? |
