NOT cool...

What is the name of your state? CA

I was in an accident on 12/15/03 and I was found to be at fault. I did not have insurance at the time. My license was subsequently suspended on 3/3/04 for a year. In may '04 I paid the other guys' insurance company approximately $6500 (don't remember the exact number) and was told that that was it. Unfortunately I never requested a "paid in full letter", which I didn't know that I needed to.

At the time, I considered getting a lawyer because the guy was a harassing me. He left me a couple messages on my phone stating that he was going to sue me everything I owned and that I was so irresponsible for not having any insurance and that I was probably a drug dealer on and on...

I decided against it and just wanted to get it over and done with, so I paid. But now this??? I just recieved a letter and a phone call from a rep at the other guys' insurance that I owe another $7500, or my license will be suspended (again). What should I do?

You need to find out what the $6500 was for, and what the $7500 additional is for.

Well, supposedly the first part was just for property damage and this part is for medical bills, rental, etc. I have nothing in writing though.
