| Not signing release yet - Write Letter? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Colorado.
Both of my daughters (age 18 and 20) had minor injuries in car accident - not their fault. Both girls went to Dr. and report indicates 'neck spasms', soreness, stiffness, plus jaw pain and a chipped tooth. Abrasions from airbags have healed. Spend a few days on the couch, difficulty chewing and talking for awhile.
Insurance co. wants to pay actual expenses plus estimate for fixing chipped tooth, times about 2. Total of less than $500. They want to pay quickly and have girls sign releases. I've been advised by others not to sign - that they could have some additional problem down the road. Dr. can't say they will or that they won't - obviously no one can really say.
Should I write a letter to officially explain that we are not signing? How long should I wait before signing? 6 months? 12 months? If I stick with not signing, is there any reason to get an attorney based on whatever I don't know? Thx. |
