Out of state no fault accident

What is the name of your state? Hawaii
i was in Mexico, Ixtapa drving as a passenger in rented mini van. driver passed a truck and subsiquently we were hit by oncoming truck. I am missing work, have a lot of medical bills adn problems. The people i was driving with did NOT buy Mexicn insuance but i ahve full coverage. My insurance compnay says they do not cover in Mexico, do I have any recourse??? I do not have sick pay at work adn am falling into financial trouble.
