Parked car being hit and totaled, 0 cent received so far

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

This accident happened already 4 month ago. 2 moving cars collided into each other and one of them ended up hitting into my parked car. I had only liability cover on this car. So I contacted both parties' insurance, but they just kept blaming on each other.

I had to file a small claim against both of them. Only driver A appeared. So the judge ruled the default judgment against the absent driver B.

Now driver B and his insurance is appealing.

My question is:
in the appeal hearing, is it only between me and driver B? What if driver B has solid proof to blame all the way to driver A and sucessfully reverse the case? In that case I will have no one to catch since driver A is already off hook at the initial hearing? What can I do to avoid this scenario? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Why haven't you let your insurance company do all this for you?

Because OP only had "...liability cover on this car."

Oops. I skim sometimes.

Why don't you call the court and ask who is being asked to appear at the appeal? I suspect all 3 parties will need to be there since it will probably be a re-do of the first hearing.

Thank you very much for your reply!

I checked with the court. The small claim advisor said all parties has to show up while the clerk said the driver who didnt get judgment against him at the inital trial is out of the picture:S... inconsistent answers... That's why I wanna get a third opinion.
