Parking Lot Accident in North Carolina

i was recently involved in an parking lot accident in north carolina. it is my understanding that in this state, there is no one at fault for this incident, but that both parties must pay the cost of the damage to their own respective car. can you tell me if this is true?

Are demolition derbies common in the parking lots of North Carolina? If there was such a law, folks would be running into each other all the time. As a privately owned area open to the general public, the same laws that apply on public roads also apply in parking lots. The party at fault is responsible for the repairs to the damaged parties vehicle.
