Parking lot back up

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California
I was in a college parking lot which has lanes that run in alternating one-way directions. I was driving down one lane when I got to the end of the parking lot and was about to drive out onto the street when I saw a space just to the right of me. Knowing that there were no cars behind me on the lane I came from I began to back up a bit so I could drive straight into the parking space when another driver came from the lane to the right in the wrong direction and we collided. The corner of my passenger side bumper and their drivers side front bumper had been damaged. Who is more at fault?

[i][b]She was hit on the passenger side of her car. She was not hit backing up.

How did you come up with that?

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.
