Was in an accident, being sued, recently received a letter stating...

"...received phone call confirmation from Judge XXXXX chamber's, scheduling the oral argument for the Motion for Partial Summary Judgment on..."

what is partial summary judgement? Is this used sometimes to help establish liability?

Not sure if there is enough information there to answer. Let me know. Thanks.

Report it to your insurance company, if you haven't already. Summary judgement means that they want the case to be decided without a full hearing because there is no dispute as to facts. I am guessing that "partial" summary judgement means they are trying to have liability settled without a hearing of the evidence and the only dispute is regarding the amount of the damages.
