What is the name of your state? i was parked and was hit by a hit and run with a stolen car. the other persons insurance company will not pay for damages to my car as they said it was a stolen car not the owner that hit me and he only had liability. this does not make sense to me. the amount to get my car repaired is $3500.00. what can i do?

My response:

The insurance company is correct. They, nor the car owner, are responsible for the CRIMINAL acts of third persons - - only the NEGLIGENT acts of such persons.

Stealing a car, and striking someone else's property is not a negligent act. Therefore, the owner is not liable to you.

I hope you have your own insurance to cover your damages.

When you're asked for your damages at the Criminal's trial; e.g., your insurance deductible, you'll be included in the court's order for the criminal to reimburse you. Or, you can sue the criminal directly.
