| You can accept anything from them as long as you are careful that nothing says "final settlement" or rules out in any way collecting further money (if that's necessary). If they simply send a check payable to you (or the hospital, insurance, etc) for some amount, and there's nothing that indicates this, then you're fine to take the money. Make sure you read carefully! Also, don't trust anything that you're told over the phone. If it's not in writing, then it means nothing.
I hope everything with your daughter works out ok and she gets better fast! It would probably be a good idea to get her grandmother off the road too, it sounds like she shouldn't be driving any more. |
