OKAY MY SON WAS HIT BY A CAR WHO SWERVED JUMPING CURB INTO THE PARKING LOT TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM AT A LIGHT WHILE HITTING THE ACCELERATOR INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE.
MY SON BROKE HIS FEMUR AND HAS 4 METAL PINS IN HIS LEG. FLORIDA IS A "NO FAULT" STATE HOW COULD THIS AFFECT OUR CASE? THE 18 YR.OLD (WHO WAS DRIVING THE VECHICAL) HIS INS. IS A $15,000 LIMIT. THE MEDICAL BILLS ALONE HAVE EXCEEDED THAT AMOUNT. HOW DOES MY SON GET A SETTLEMENT? IS HE ENTITLED TO A SETTLEMENT?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

You need to turn off Caps Lock.

Your son needs an attorney.

After his PIP is exhausted, his health insurance will pick up the bills. Settlement can't be considered until his treatment is complete.

No Fault refers to the medical/Personal Injury Protection benefits.

Does your son or anyone in the house own a vehicle and have auto coverage? You may want to take a look at your policy and see if you have Underinsured Motorist coverage. Talk to your insurance company and agent. They will explain the coverage and get a claim setup for you.

If not, an attorney may be the way to go.
