PIP coverage

Utah: My state limits PIP coverage from my auto insurance carrier to 16K. I'm confused: If I hit a lamppost with a passenger in my car and cause her 100K in injuries, how can I be covered for this? What is the name of your state?

You can be covered for this NEXT TIME by purchasing additional insurance over the state minimums.
By the way... I don't know where you got that $16k number from. Your state minimums are:
Bodily injury liability maximum for one person injured in an accident: $25K
Bodily injury liability maximum for all injuries in one accident: $50K
and property damage liability maximum for one accident: $15K

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

PIP is for YOU. Bodily injury liability is for anyone else, including passengers, that you injure.

Not all states require PIP or have minimums for it. But it's different then the liability minimums.

Yep, that is why I posted as I did.... I felt the OP was really meaning liabilty coverage since he was talking about someone elses (liability) injury.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP): This is a mandatory no fault coverage for automobile insurance providing benefits including, but not limited to, medical expenses, loss of income resulting from an automobile accident, and essential services.
