The accident happened in New york. My car was stopped in traffic. A ford van hit me from behind. Another car hit the van from behind. But I am not sure of the sequence of the events. The car that hit the van left the scene. The van's insurance is telling me that they are not liable to pay me (since they are pushed from behind). I don't have collision coverage in my car. Is that van's insurance liable or not?
