Our car was stolen last week, and recovered 6 days later. We had to pick up the car 276 miles from home and drive it back.
We are unsure of all the problems at this time. The outside body doesn't have any major damage, but the inside of the car was trashed.
What can we expect the insurance company to do?
We do not want to keep the car after seeing the condition it is in, but the insurance company has stated we have to. Will this theft reduce the market value of our car, even if it is detailed, and checked out?
What can we do if anything?

Thanks.

If there was no structural damage to the car then the value may not change. The insurance will pay (minus your deductable) to replace all of the the stolen parts that came with your model from the factory. So, if you up-graded your stereo or rims after the car was delivered from the factory to the dealer you won't get that paid for, unless you have a specific clause or rider in your policy.
