question about statutes of limitations on filing a claim with insurance

What is the name of your state

My state is Tennessee.

I had an accident back in May 2008, in my father's car, and the guy is just now trying to contact me. He obviously has not filed with insurance and I was wandering what is the statute of limitations for filing a claim to insurance for a automobile accident?

A "reasonable" amount of time.

Bring forward the claim. Your fathers insurance company may still handle it. This is why though you're supposed to report accidents to your insurance company when they happen.

SOL for property damage in your state is 3 years.
