| Rear End Hit - How to reduce points What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?
TEXAS
Hi,
I hit a vehicle from behind. I wanted to change lanes because the vehicle ahead of me, say A, was going slow. I realised I couldnt change lanes and had to continue in my lane. At this point I hit the rear end of the vehicle, A, in front of me.
I got a ticket for 'failure to control the vehicle'. #9 points. I can contest in the court. I admitted it was my fault then, but I am not sure if the vehicle A, slowed down or was uniformly going too slow. Either case, will there be any reduction in points? I wasnt over the limits, I remember being around 30 mph and that must be a 35-40 zone. It was the right most lane, not a highway. How can I reduce my points in court? THis happened on Feb 05. I do understand that in a rear end hit the fault will be the driver who hits, but I am interested in reducing my points on the ticket.
Also, in november 04 I got a speeding ticket for which I am taking a defensive drivers course. Will this effect my chances of reducing my points?
THanks, |
