My friends & I were in a 95 Honda accord stopped at a red light waiting for the light to change when we were rear ended by a truck w/ a snow plow attached to the front going 35 mph +. It threw the car across the intersection and totaled the car. The driver of the truck then took off, but a witness drove by and advised us he saw the whole thing and told us he was going to chase the guy down. There were 5 of us in the car, I was sitting in the back in the middle w/ only a lap belt on and I hit my nose on something & broke it. I have been having terrible neck & back pains as well as severe headaches. Everyone else seems to be fine, just a little achy. They caught they guy who was driving the truck, and he was extremely intoxicated and had 5 warrants out for his arrest so they took him to jail. I think he was driving a company vehicle, but I wasn't all there at the time to verify that everything happened so fast. When the ambulance arrived they took me straight in there & drove me to the hospital. At the hospital they did X-Ray's and a MRI to make sure there was no brain damage. I have been trying 2 find out if this guy is insured, but they police said it will take 5-10 days 2 get me a copy of the police report. In the mean time I have gone to two doctors & they told me I have to see a specialist for my nose & undergo physical therapy for my neck & back. I have insurance, but because this was an auto accident the doctors office will not bill it to my insurance company. They are telling me they are going to have to bill it as self pay & I am going to have to get the money from the auto insurance company myself. Any info would be a great help!!!
