My wife was in an auto accident in October. She was rear ended by a semi tractor trailor with a 75,000 load of asphalt. Her car was sitting still, the truck was going over 40 MPH. The Car, a Volvo XC70, was totalled. The trucking company is insured by a solid large insurance company and they paid us a very fair price for the car.
My wife has been recieving care from an M.D., Chiro, Physical Therapy, etc. Medical bills will approach 8-10K by the time the treatment is over. She is an executive in her company. She did miss a day or so of work, but more importantly, she has had to leave for Dr. Appointments and rehab during the work day and this has been going on for over 3 months. We have a small child and she has had a tough time lifting him, etc. She was an active runner and exercised. Now she is just getting going again, so she lost where she was in that area of physical fitness.
How do we qualify all of those damages?
How do we guage a proper settlement amount? There is clear fault here, so just agreeing on an amount is what will be left to do.
