What is the name of your state? Florida My wife rearended another driver in the rain yesterday. She offered to call for a police officer to make an accident report. The other driver told her that the damage was to minor to his vehicle for that and to exchange names and telephone numbers. Now he is harrassing her for a significant amout of money to repair his vehicle. Where does she stand legally if there was no accident report and the other driver refused to produce insurance information to her?

Do you have insurance?

If yes, contact them and let them handle the claim and give the guy your wife hit the information.

If no, then be prepared to be served with a lawsuit if you do not pay, and probably a license suspension for being in an accident without insurance.
