Rental car - auto claim

What is the name of your state? IL

I have an insurance that allows me rental car reimbursement till the car is repaired. I was wondering if you need to show a proof or can just ask for the check even though u dont have the car rented.

Usually the auto insurance pays directly to the rental car company. I would expect that if you want a check, you need to send a receipt. It is not like a repair where you can sometimes get a check for the cost of repairs and keep it.

Yes, this isn't to enrich you. If you don't get the rental, then you don't get a check.

The same way they pay your doctors if you have a medical claim from an auto accident....they get a bill, and send a check!

This website seems to be full of insurance agents who are working for insurance companies. Is there a non-insurance agent that can help me? The policy entitles to an amount per day, why do u have to provide proof that u r using the rental car?

I don't work for an insurance company. Since you seem to have a smart ass attitude, why don't you ask your INSURANCE COMPANY what THEY will accept as proof? That makes a LOT of sense, doesn't it?

The policy provides for a rental car, up to a maximum amount per day.
Why can't you understand that?

Have you asked your insurance company what their requirements are?

Your occupation says insurance agent. Thats how I thought you are an insurance agent. If not, you can always change it.

I didn't say that I wasn't an insurance agent. I am a licensed insurance agent in many states. I do NOT, however, work for an insurance company. Period. I do not use the insurance license that I hold. I do NOT sell insurance.

You did not just "catch" me, after over 5,000 posts. There is no need for me to change a damn thing.

Mo is an insurance agent. That does not necessarily mean that she works for an insurance company or is employed as an insurance agent right now. It just means she holds a license to sell insurance in several states.

I, however, am not an agent and do not work for an insurance company. I'm just a person who's been in a lot of car accidents and has an interest in the law. And I'm telling you that your insurance company makes the rules of your policy. If they say that you have to submit a receipt to show you actually rented the car before they will send you a check for the rental, then that is what you have to do. If you want to get a copy of your full policy booklet, it will outline all the rules, policies, and procedures they use for handling your claims. Read that, and then see if you have any more questions.
