rental car immaginary damage

What is the name of your state? california

I rented a car for 1 day while mine was being serviced. When I turned in my car the manager pointed out damage that I could not see. I signed their paper noting that I saw no damage. I received a phone call from the company that resulted in the person telling me that he'd look into it Today I received a letter stating that I owe $225 for labor and $50 for the administrative fee. The rental car company attached pictures that showed no damage. I also took pictures the same day of return that show no damage. I tried very hard to see the damage that they pointed at, and viewed the area from all angles. I feel this is a false claim against me. What should I do?What is the name of your state?

Sorry, I got called away from the computer.
If they take you to court, have them take the picture of the damage, if the judge can see it ( Maybe she has magic glasses) Then you pay, if she doesn't you don't.

phantom damage

Will this go to court or will this just be a hit on my credit?

This has nothing to do with your credit. Let them take you to court. Send them a certified letter stating that the pictures show no damage and you feel this is a superfluous claim on their part, and that you will not be paying for the damages.
