What is the name of your state? Missouri

Just read an article and am interested in what the law says on this subject. Can a business be sued/held liable if a patron comes in and has to much to drink? Just because you were given drink after drink does not mean you have to take them. If someone handed you a gun do you shoot somebody? To me its a choice. I was just curious as to what the law says.
Thanks

People that are drunk don't make good choices...And yes the restaurant is liabel  if the person they SUPPLIED drink after drink to goes out and hurts someone. AND if you give someone a gun and they shoot another with it, you could be held liabel  for that as well...both civilly and criminally.

Absolutely no offense taken...but how am I wrong...?
A restaurant can be LIABLE but not LIBEL. :D I know what you meant but the definitions are TOTALLY different. You can call me a smart ass now. :p
Put liable where you have libel and then you would be correct!

Highly dependent on jurisdiction. Frankly in most places it's against the local liquor licensing law to continue to serve someone who is intoxicated, but it's perhaps one of the most widely ignored rules.

You betcha, not only restaurants but even private hosts in many states are liable for the subsequent actions of their intoxicated guests.
