Retrieving A Suspended License

I am from Wichita, KS. I had an accident about a year ago. The accident involved 4 cars. The at fault car turned was turning into a bank and hit another car that in turn ended hitting my car and the car in front of me. I was not at fault and did not receive any tickets, however, my insurace had lasped and I was not insured. I recently receive a letter from the state informing me that my license had been suspended because I was not covered at the time of the wreck. It also said that I would have to pay $100 reinstatement fee, keep an SR-22 on file with the state for a year and obtain a signed/notarized statement from each of the involved parties advising that they will not sue me. My question is...I can provide the letter, a self-addressed stamped envelope for return and even repay them for getting the letter notarized, but who is to say that these people will do what I ask them and if that is the case, how would I ever get my license back if they don't?

Sincerely,

Unknowing...

Retrieving Suspend License

Not to sound flippant, but why not ask the licence office? At worst you can attempt to mail to them, personally I would not sign it. It would appear that if you were not @ fault, and the accident report reflects this, the State would have some way of working with you. Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck.

You are confusing the accident (which isn't the issue) with the fact that you knowingly made the decision to drive without insurance. Your conscious decision to do this is what is causing the problem.

And one of the ways that the state can protect the law-abiding licensed drivers from uninsured motorists is to have the unlicensed motorist to get a release from any other driver involved in an accident. The state doesn't know, or care, about the details of the accident.... just that you were driving without insurance when you MIGHT have caused someone else to incur damages. That is why they want the release... to assure the state that you have no liability (personal or property) against you.

So, to answer your question:
Q1) "I can provide the letter, a self-addressed stamped envelope for return and even repay them for getting the letter notarized, but who is to say that these people will do what I ask them and if that is the case, how would I ever get my license back if they don't?"
A1) There is NO obligation for the other 'victims' (I know you were NOT at fault) to sign anything releasing you from any liability. You will just have to write a very sympathetic letter and hope and pray that they do sign. If they don't, contact them and courteously ask them to please sign... beg, cry, etc. If they still don't, then you have a BIG problem. But, you won't know if you have a problem until you send them your letter.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
