Settlement from auto accident

What is the name of your state? Michigan

On 12/15/01 I was hit head on by a truck. The other driver was at fault. My brand new car was totalled. My injuries included broken hand, sternum, foot and ankle.

My ankle was the most severe injury. Parts of it were shattered, ligaments were torn, as was a tendon. I went through 3 months of physical therapy. I had reconstructive surgery on 6/25/02. In another month I will start physical therapy again. When I was not on crutches I had to walk with a cane. Walking with a cane is a possibility for the rest of my life.

I have retained an attorney, but I still do not know how much of a settlement to expect. Can anyone give me an estimate based on the facts that I presented?

It is impossible for anyone to tell how much someone should receive from a settlement on this forum. Factors include income of the parties involved, how much insurance coverage the at fault party carried, the assets of the at fault party, etc. You could be awarded $1,000,000 but if the at fault party is worth only $5, that is all you will get. This is a question you need to ask your attorney, he is better versed with your situation than anyone on this forum. Good luck.
